Have you ever used google maps or yahoo maps? Think about all the information included in those applications. Not only is it a map, but it also:
can give you directions
can show you where to find restaurants, hotels, grocery stores, Starbucks, a place to get your phone recharging cord (if you forget it; I never did that - twice)
how to get where you are going using public transportation, driving, or walking
and more.
Here is a google map for the Clearwater Beach location of our NACADA Technology Seminar February 12, 13.

This is a google earth version of the map, so there is quite a bit of topographical detail. Haven't check out google earth? Try it now. Its a download.

Imagine flying around the globe to find the home of your new student from China, India, Africa, Europe. Zoom in on the hometown of one of your freshman advisees. Google Earth lets you get up close and personal via satellite with a familiar site, or one about which you need to or want to know more.
Have you scoped out the restaurants in Clearwater Beach? Use Google Earth/Google Maps to find the best and closest to the hotel. User reviews will tell you where to avoid, and make suggestions on what to try. When you get home, you can add to the knowledge by posting your own reviews.
